2000 Volleyball Preview
Coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and a first-ever NESCAC Championship in 1999, the Firedogs enter the 2000 season poised for another run at the National Championship, with a veteran core of returning players joined by a talented crop of first-years.

All-NESCAC setter Meredith DeMeules '02 will once again run the offense, after setting an all-time school record with 1,265 assists during her sophomore season. DeMeules has a number of options on the Firedog attack, as standout junior Erica Hewes - who led the team with 416 kills in 1999 - anchors a deep corps of outside hitters. Emily Ratcliff '03, coming off a sensational rookie year, joins Hewes at the net, while co-captains Liza Abeles '01 and Carrie Snyder '01, along with middle hitter Erin Dittus '03, give the Firedogs veteran depth.

Along with a deep core of returnees, the squad also welcomes a talented group of first-years to the College, with a pair of outside hitters in 5-10 Jessica Allen (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) and 5-8 Martha Buck (Queensbury, NY/Lake George Central School), and a pair of inside hitters in 6-0 Natalie Brooks (Catonsville, MD/McDonough School) and 5-11 Lauren Wong (San Francisco, CA/Lick-Wilmerding). Look for the Firedogs to once again be among New England's elite, as they go after their eighth straight post-season appearance.
