Cathy Poor 2, Wesleyan 1, as Soccer Wins Little III in OT
October 21 - Despite playing only 60 minutes during the game, Amherst junior midfielder Cathy Poor scored both goals, including the game-winner 3:53 into the first sudden-death overtime, to lift the women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Wesleyan University, sealing the Jeffs' first outright Little III title since 1997. Putnam, Rossman Lead Jeffs Over Mt. Holyoke 4-0
October 19 - Junior striker/midfielder Hallison Putnam and first-year midfielder Jenny Rossman each scored a goal and assisted on two others as Amherst improved to 8-4-1 with a 4-0 victory over visiting non-league foe Mount Holyoke College on Thursday. Full Story

Putnam Tabbed NESCAC Player of the Week
October 16 - Junior striker/midfielder Hallison Putnam earned New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for the period ending Oct. 16 after scoring the lone Jeffs goal in a pair of 1-0 victories over Eastern Connecticut State and Williams College. Full Story

October 14 - Junior midfielder Hallison Putnam scored her second goal in as many games in the 52nd minute, and sophomore goalie Brooke Diamond posted a season-high 10 saves in the shutout, as the Amherst women's soccer team upset arch-rival Williams College on Saturday morning. Full Story

Diamond Posts Sixth Shutout in 1-0 Win Over ECSU
October 12 - Sophomore goalkeeper Brooke Diamond turned away four shots for her sixth shutout of the season and 15th of her career, as the Amherst College Lord Jeffs blanked non-conference foe Eastern Connecticut State University 1-0 on Thursday. Full Story

October 10 - Tufts University senior Sara Yeatman scored her sixth goal of the season with 48 seconds remaining in regulation, lifting the Jumbos past host Amherst in a wild back-and-forth NESCAC battle on Hitchcock Field on Tuesday afternoon. Full Story

W-Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision to Panthers
October 7 - Middlebury College midfielder Leah Cumsky-Whitlock scored in the 32nd and 89th minutes as the Panthers defeated visiting Amherst for the third consecutive time, dropping the Jeffs to 5-3-1 on the season. Full Story

W-Soccer Sweeps Past MCLA, 3-0
October 4 - Junior Amherst College striker Laura Raybould scored a pair of goals, rookie Kay Bradley notched a pair of assists, and fellow first-year Jenny Rossman added a third tally as the women's soccer team defeated the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Wednesday by a 3-0 final. W-Soccer Battles Bowdoin to 1-1 Tie
September 30 - After a 12th-minute goal from Bowdoin College midfielder Sally Chessie, Amherst rookie Jenny Rossman converted her first collegiate goal just three minutes later, before the two teams played 105 more minutes of scoreless soccer en route to a 1-1 tie in Maine on Saturday. Full Story

September 26 - Junior striker Laura Raybould tallied her first career goal in the 50th minute, while junior midfielder Cathy Poor netted her eighth of the season in the 78th minute, as the Amherst College women's soccer team improved to 4-2 with a 2-0 win at NESCAC rival Trinity College. September 20 - Amherst junior midfielder Cathy Poor scored a game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation only to watch Clark University rebound with the game-winner in overtime, as the Jeffs dropped a heartbreaker 3-2 at Hitchcock Field on Wednesday afternoon. Full Story

No. 7 Jeffs Fall at Bates
September 16 - Amherst College fell victim to a late Bates College goal as the Jeffs fell to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the NESCAC with a 1-0 loss on Saturday. Bates improved to 2-0 (1-0 NESCAC) with the win. Full Story

W-Soccer Steamrolls Smith, 4-0
September 13 - Junior midfielder Cathy Poor (Harwich Port, MA) netted her second career hat-trick, as the women's soccer team improved to 2-0 with a 4-0 drubbing of Pioneer Valley rival Smith College. Heather Govern '02 had the other Amherst goal, as the Jeffs outshot the Pioneers, 34-11. Full Story

Second-Half Goals Lead Jeffs Past Colby
September 10 - Sophomore Katelyn McCabe and junior Cathy Poor each scored during a four-minute span late in the second half of the women's soccer team's season opener against visiting Colby College on Sunday, lifting the Jeffs to the 2-0 win. Full Story
