Women 13th, Men 29th at New Englands

BOSTON, MA - The Amherst college women's cross country finished 13th, while the men finished 29th at the New England Cross Country Championships Friday at Franklin Park.
On the women's side, the Jeffs finished with 404 points, on the strength of another strong performance by top-finisher, junior Diana Rancourt (Lunenberg, MA), who paced Amherst for the fifth consecutive meet. Other top-finisher included, in order, juniors Molly Burnett (Norwich, CT), Katie Scangos (Hillsborough, CA), and Emily Lobsenz (Fairfield, CT).
Meanwhile, the Amherst men finished with 786 points, led by top finisher John Stanton-Geddes (Glendale, MO). Newcomer Michael Page (Fargo, ND), crossed the tape behind Stanton-Geddes, followed by junior Nathaniel Robinson (Cranston, RI), sophomore Alex Lenkoski (Wethersfield, CT) and first-year harrier Justin DeVenuta (Chester, NJ).
Amherst hosts the annual Little III Championship Meet on Saturday, Oct. 21, starting with the women's race at 12:30 p.m.
