Quinn Adds to List of 2006 Accolades
November 21, 2006
AMHERST, MA – In the past week, Amherst volleyball star and senior co-captain Kristin Quinn (Pacific Palisades, CA) was given honorable mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Associtaion in conjunction with their All American announcements, and was named the 2006 New England Player of the Year by the New England Women’s Volleyball Association.
Quinn was named to the 2006 All-Conference First Team by the New England Small College Athletic Conference for the second time in her career, and was named the 2003 NESCAC Rookie of the Year. Quinn goes down as one of the best players in Amherst history, and finished the 2006 season with the second best hitting percentage in the nation.
Quinn led the Lord Jeffs all season, as they traveled deep into the NCAA National Tournament before being bounced by MIT in the second round. Amherst loses Quinn to graduation this spring, and she will surely be missed both on and off the court as a teammate and leader.
