Jeffs Roll Past Bowdoin For 19th Win

October 14, 2006

MEDFORD, MA – The Amherst College volleyball team continued its winning ways by defeating Bowdoin College 3-0 on Saturday in a NESCAC match-up held at Tufts University.  With the win, Amherst moves to 19-1 on the season.
Sophomore Sara Heller (La Canada, CA) played a solid match for the Jeffs, recording 35 assists, 6 kills, and 10 digs on the day, while senior co-captain Kristin Quinn (Pacific Palisades, CA) led her team once again in kills with 13.

Bowdoin dropped only its second conference match of the season, falling to 4-2 in the NESCAC standings and 16-5 overall.

The Jeffs have dominated the 2006 season, winning 59 games while only losing 10.  The Jeffs’ .950 winning percentage is best in the NESCAC, but Amherst still sits in second place behind a Williams College team that has yet to lose a conference match.  Amherst faces Williams Tuesday on the road in a much-anticipated conference match.
