Amherst's Quinn Named NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Week

AMHERST, MA – Amherst College senior co-captain Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA) was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week on Monday after earning all-tournament honors and leading the Jeffs to a trio of 3-0 victories and the Roger Williams University Invitational crown on Saturday.
Quinn averaged 3.11 kills per game with a hitting percentage of .460 on the day. She also tallied 11 aces and 10 blocks in the tournament, where the Jeffs downed host Roger Williams, Rivier College and the University of New England to capture the title. The the 2003 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, Quinn is a three-time all-conference pick, taking home first-team honors in her rookie and sophomore campaigns and second-team recognition last season. She has also been among the national leaders in hitting percentage throughout her career and boasts a .403 collegiate average.
Quinn and the rest of the Lord Jeffs return to action Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at non-conference opponent Keene State College.
