Berckes and Menezes Claim Program's First National Doubles Title!
May 21 - Amherst College junior Alicia Menezes and first-year Brittany Berckes earned a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory in the championship match of the National Doubles Tournament this afternoon. The title marks the first time an Amherst doubles pair has won a national championship. Full Story

Berckes, Menezes Advance to National Semifinals
May 19 - The Amherst College women's tennis doubles pair of Brittany Berckes and Alicia Menezes picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship Tournament, and will return to action Monday in the semifinals (*Note change). Full Story

Men's Pair Knocked Out of NCAA Tournament; Women's Pair Advances to Quarterfinals
May 19 - The Amherst College men's tennis doubles pair of Zack Lerner and Tal Avrahami was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, while the women's pairing of Brittany Berckes and Alicia Menezes advanced to the quarterfinals with a come-from-behind win in the opening round. Full Story

May 18 - The Intercollegiate Tennis Associate (ITA), in conjunction with Wilson, named the regional and national winners of its 2007 Awards. Amherst junior Laura Stein and sophomore Zach Lerner each recieved impressive honors. Full Story

Amherst Falls to Washington & Lee in National Championship Match, 5-2
May 17 - The Amherst College women's tennis team fell just short of its second national title in program history, as the Lord Jeffs fell to Washington & Lee University, 5-2. Amherst ends its impressive season with an overall record of 18-5. Full Story

May 17 - The singles and doubles competitions in the 2007 NCAA Division III Tennis tournaments will feature four Amherst College players. May 15 - The Amherst College women's tennis team trailed Gustavus Adolphus College 3-0 after doubles play, but stormed back to win five of six singles matches, with junior Jenn Murphy once again coming through with the deciding victory. Full Story

May 6 - The Amherst College women's tennis team continued its dominant play by defeating The College of New Jersey in the regional finals, 5-0. The Jeffs will resume their season Tuesday, May 15 in the National Quarterfinals. Full Story

Amherst Takes Down Saint Lawrence in Second Round of NCAA Tournament
May 5 - The Amherst College women’s tennis team advanced to the Third Round of the NCAA Championship Tournament with a 5-0 win over Saint Lawrence University. The Saints end their season at 16-3, while the Lord Jeffs improve to 15-4 and will take on The College of New Jersey Sunday at noon in Amherst. Full Story

Pair of Jeffs Earn NESCAC All Conference Honors; Bagwell Named Coach of the Year
May 3 - Amherst junior Alicia Menezes and first-year Brittany Berckes each earned a pair of NESCAC All Conference awards this afternoon. The two were named First Team as doubles partners, while Menezes grabbed First Team singles honors, and Berckes was named a Second Team singles selection. Head coach Jackie Bagwell was named the NESCAC Coach of the Year, as well. Full Story

Top Lord Jeffs Named in Field for NCAA Individual Tournament
May 2 - Amherst junior Alicia Menezes and doubles partner first-year Brittany Berckes were selected yesterday for the NCAA Individual Tournament. Menezes was also selected to play in the singles field of the 32 individuals. The Tournament will follow the team competition at the University of Mary Washington on May 18-20. Full Story

May 1 - The NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Committee has selected the 48 teams that will compete in the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championships. Among the regional hosts is Amherst College, who received the overall #1 seed in the tournament. Full Story

April 29 - The Amherst College women's tennis team won its third straight outright NESCAC Championship this afternoon with a 5-4 win over Williams. Junior Jen Murphy outlasted her opponent for in three sets with the teams tied at four for the title. Full Story

April 27 - The third-seeded Amherst College women’s tennis team shut out the sixth-seeded Bantams of Trinity College this afternoon at an indoor facility on the campus of Mount Holyoke College. April 10 - The Amherst College women's tennis team got back to its winning ways with a 5-4 win over Tufts University, getting through the first of four consecutive matches that the Jeffs will play on the road. Full Story

April 7 - The Amherst College women's tennis team fell to Middlebury College, 5-4, to move to 4-3 on the spring season. The Jeffs took two of the doubles matches but were able to pick up only two wins in singles play. Full Story

March 28 - The 6th-ranked Amherst College women's tennis team beat Little Three and NESCAC archrival Wesleyan University 9-0 this afternoon at home. Full Story

Amherst Returns Home After 6-3 Win at Redlands
March 24 - The Amherst College women's tennis team defeated Redlands on the campus of Pomona College this afternoon to move to 3-2 on the season. The Lord Jeffs will return to campus for spring classes and the NESCAC season. Full Story

March 23 - The Amherst College women's tennis team swept the doubles slates to take an impressive 7-2 win over 14th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer College this afternoon. The win moves the Jeffs to 2-2 for the spring. Full Story

March 22 - The Amherst College women's tennis team defeated host Claremont this afternoon 9-0 for the team's first win of the spring season. Amherst, who posted a great record last fall will look to move towards a successful spring with the win. Full Story
