Trio of Seniors Selected for NEWISA Senior Game
November 21, 2006
AMHERST, MA – Following their emilination from the NCAA Tournament in the national quarterfinal, four senior members of the Amherst College women’s soccer team were notified of their selection to the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association Soccer Bowl game. Seniors Amy Armstrong (Avon, CT), Piper Crowell (San Rafael, CA), and Liz Foley (Tolland, CT) were selected to represent Amherst in the game, to be played at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA on Sunday December 3, 2006 at noon.
The game features players from the New England region across all three NCAA divisions, and has been played for the last four seasons, featuring seniors who have helped contribute to their programs and the growth of soccer in New England. The selections for the game were done over a three week period of nominations and voting done by coaches thought New England at each division.
While it is certainly an honor to have a defender, forward and goalkeeper selected to the game, Amherst can take a higher level of pride in dominating the voting, as all three players led their respective position in the voting.
