October 31, 2006

Amherst, MA - The Amherst College women’s cross country team was well represented at the announcement of this year’s NESCAC All-Conference teams, which came just three days after the Lord Jeffs took home the 2006 NESCAC women’s championship.

Junior Kim Partee (Brentwood, TN) was named to the NESCAC All-Conference First Team after earning Second-Team honors in the past two seasons, along with a NESCAC Rookie of the Year award in 2004. Juniors Meg Ray (Menands, NY) and Heather Wilson (Danvers, MA) were named to the NESCAC All-Conference Second-Team, marking the second consecutive season Wilson has received the honor.

First-year Sophia Galleher (Denver, CO) was named this year’s NESCAC Rookie of the Year after finishing 15th at the championship, the best finish among the rookie runners. The Rookie of the Year honor has been given to a member of the Amherst team in each of the past four seasons.

Erik Nedeau was named the NESCAC Women’s Coach of the Year, leading his Jeffs to the program’s first NESCAC women’s title, just three years after Nedeau received the honor in 2003.
