Dudzik, Carr-Harris, Watson Named to NFHCA All-Region Teams
November 13, 2006
AMHERST, MA – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released its selections for the 2006 Div. III All-Region Teams. The NFHCA named sophomore midfielder Alyssa Dudzik (Darien, CT) to its New England West First Team, and gave senior co-captains Rachel Carr-Harris (Pleasantville, NY) and Amy Watson (Norwood, MA) New England West Second Team nods.
Watson—a 16 game starter—was the backbone of a strong defense that allowed an average of 1.65 goals per game. She also earned All-New England West honors last year as a junior.
Despite suffering from injury early in the season, Carr-Harris came back and was named to All–New England West team for her second time. This season, she controlled the middle of the field, collecting 5 points on two goals and one assist.
Dudzik filled a similar role for the Jeffs, collecting five assists as a standout midfielder. The NFHCA awarded her efforts by giving her First-Team All-New England West honors—an honor that no Jeff has received since 2004.
All three of the honorees helped Amherst to a solid last half of the year, which saw the Jeffs down Williams College in the first-round of the NESCAC Tournament but lose to eventual NESCAC Champion Bowdoin College in the semifinal contest.
