Junior Lenny Lepner reached the quarterfinals of the "A" Flight singles draw, and teamed with sophomore Geoff Schwartz to reach "A" flight doubles final over the weekend.

Jeffs Shine at Wallach Invitational

Lewiston, ME - The Amherst College men's tennis team closed out its fall slate at the Wallach Invitational, hosted by Bates College over the weekend, securing both the B flight doubles title and the C Flight singles title. Senior Jon Godsall (Toronto, Ontario) defeated sophomore teammate Austin Moller (Manhattan Beach, CA) to take the C singles crown, while sophomores Tal Avrahami (Riverdale, NY) and Jeff Wan (Staten Island, NY) teamed to bring home the B doubles crown.

In A Flight singles action, senior Danny Babkes (Baltimore, MD) played his way into the final before falling to champion Will Boe-Wiegaard of Bates, while junior Lenny Lepner (Tartu, Estonia) reached the quarterfinals before succumbing to Tufts University's Will Fleder. In the B singles draw, Avrahami and rookie Zach Lerner (Scarsdale, NY) both reached the semifinals before bowing out. First-year Brad Corbin (Charlottesville, VA) cruised into the semifinal of D Flight singles action before falling to Bowdoin's Andrew Fried, while classmate Caleb Rozwenc (Haydenville, MA) fell in the quarterfinals.

In doubles play, Lepner teamed with sophomore Geoff Schwartz (Dallas, TX) to reach the A Flight final, where they succumbed to Boe-Wiegaard and teammate Tristan Beach , while Moller and senior Josh Rilla (Westboro, MA) played their way into the quarterfinals before bowing out. Avrahami and Wan surrendered just four games on their way to the B flight finals, where they ousted Tufts' Corey Keller and Paul Roberts to clinch the title.

The Jeffs close out their fall slate at 2-0 in dual-match play.
