Amherst Field Hockey Places Three On Dartfish/NFHCA All-New England Team
November 21, 2005
AMHERST, MA – Senior tri-captain Katherine Skrivan (Clayton, MO) was named to the Dartfish/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-New England West Region Team for the third consecutive year on Monday, while juniors Rachel Carr-Harris (Pleasantville, NY) and Amy Watson (Norwood, MA) earned their first career all-region plaudits.
Skrivan has been an impact player for Amherst in her four years, leading the team in scoring her junior season and racking up 40 points on 16 goals and eight assists during her career. This season she posted three assists and three scores, including the first goal of the season and the game-winner in the Jeffs' opening contest against Trinity. An All-NESCAC selection in 2004, Skrivan has led the Jeffs to 28 wins and two post-season appearances in her tenure.
After earning All-NESCAC recognition last week, Carr-Harris and Watson join Skrivan on the all-region second team. Carr-Harris, a three-year starter for the Jeffs, was second on the team in scoring in points (10), goals (3) and assists (4) and notched the game-winner in Amherst 's 2-1 win over Bates College . Watson, who also has three years of starting experience for the Jeffs, anchored a young but talented defense, which posted three shutouts this season.
