NORTHAMPTON, MA - The Amherst College field hockey team improved to 2-0

with just under 15 minutes in the opening frame.
Amherst added a trio of insurance goals after the break as Gilbert dealt consecutive assists to Carr-Harris and senior tri-captain Katherine Skrivan (St. Louis, MO), and sophomore Carolyn Shea (Summit, NJ) notched her first score of the season.
Amherst sophomore Kathleen Boucher (Washington, DC) posted a pair of saves, while senior Megan Maguire piled up 17 saves in a losing effort for Smith, which fell to 2-1 with the loss.
