2004 Amherst Volleyball Milestones


TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Opened the season with an 11-match winning streak en route to a 23-7 overall record (8-2 in conference play).
  • Earned the No. 3 seed in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament - their 12th straight postseason appearance - where they blanked sixth-seeded Bates 3-0 in the quarterfinals before falling to second-seeded Tufts 3-2 in the tournament semifinals.
  • Finished second in the NESCAC in blocks (2.45 bpg) and third in kills (12.83 kpg) and winning percentage (.767).

INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

    Senior Co-Captain Setter Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA)
  • Second-Team All-NESCAC.
  • Academic All-NESCAC.
  • Earned All-Tournament honors at the Hall of Fame Invitational, hosted by Smith, as well as the Wesleyan Invitational and the Western New England College Invitational.
  • Finished seventh in the NESCAC in assists (9.22 apg).


  • Junior Outside Hitter Natalie Soud (Jacksonville, FL)
  • Academic All-NESCAC.


  • Junior Outside Hitter Kate Raddock (Stamford, CT)
  • Academic All-NESCAC.


  • Sophomore Outside Hitter Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA)
  • Honorable Mention AVCA All-New England.
  • Second-Team NEWVA All-New England.
  • First-Team All-NESCAC.
  • Named the NESCAC Player of the Week after combining for 38 kills (3.8 kpg), 18 blocks (1.8 bpg), three service aces and a .589 hitting percentage in a trio of matches and earning All-Tournament honors at the Hall of Fame Invitational, hosted by Smith.
  • Earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors after racking up a combined 42 kills (3.8 kpg) and 11 blocks in a trio of road conference victories over Bowdoin, Bates and Colby.
  • Earned Tournament MVP honors at the Western New England College Invitational and All-Tournament honors at the Wesleyan Invitational.
  • Finished fourth in the nation in hitting percentage (.426) and 20th in blocks per game (1.44).
  • Led the NESCAC in hitting percentage (.426) and blocks (1.44 bpg) and finished eighth in kills (3.73 kpg).
