Amherst Women Claim Tufts Invitational, Men Finish Sixth
September 26 - Led again by the All-America duo of senior Carter Hamill and sophomore Shauneen Garrahan, the Amherst women cross country team, ranked fourth in the nation, continued its early season dominance, capturing its second victory of the fall at the Jumbo Cross Country Invitational, held at the Tufts Farm Course on Saturday. The men, led by first-year standout Tomas Morrissey and senior Dave Molina, placed sixth with 140 points, despite running without senior Matt Katz. Full Story

Amherst Women Second, Men Sixth at UMass-Dartmouth Invitational
September 20 - Led by senior All-America Carter Hamill and sophomore All-America Shauneen Garrahan, the Amherst womenís cross country team - though the top team among Division III competitors - finished second, 33 points behind team champion Brown University, at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitation on Saturday. Meanwhile, the men, led again by senior Matt Katz took home sixth place overall; Bates College won the team title with 58 points. Full Story

Amherst Women First, Men Third at Season-Opening Amherst Invitational
September 11 - It didnít take long for Amherst senior All-America Carter Hamill and sophomore All-America Shauneen Garrahan to each add yet another accolade to their already long lists of achievements. Hamill finished first and Garrahan second to lead the Amherst womenís cross country contingent to a team title today at the season-opening Amherst Invitational, their second in as many years at this meet, besting Keene State by over 30 points. Meanwhile, the Amherst men, led by seniors Matt Katz and Dave Molina, placed third, 27 points behind team champion Keene State. Full Story

Cross Country Teams Prepped for Return to Nationals
September 10 - The women return four scorers from last year's NCAA Championship Meet, while the men are coming off their first-ever trip to nationals, as the Amherst cross country teams gear up for another exciting season. Both teams open their 2004 slate on Saturday, Sept. 11, hosting the Amherst Invitational. Full Story
