    Head coach Rick Edelmann brings a wealth of experience gleaned over more than two decades as a standout player, coach and administrator in collegiate tennis. He comes to Amherst from Florida Tech, where he was responsible for the startup of both the menís and womenís Division II tennis programs. Prior to that, Edelmann spent more than 10 years at Division II Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass., where he coached the men and women - earning Northeast 10 Coach of the Year honors in each - and served as director of intramurals, before eventually being promoted to assistant athletic director. He also served on both the NCAA Division II National Selection Committee and the NCAA Division II East Regional Ranking Committee, and as chair of the Northeast-10 Menís Tennis Coaches. During the off-season, he was the director of tennis at the Indian Ridge Country Club (Andover, Mass.) and has worked as a tennis pro at the Salem Country Club (Peabody, Md.) and Rolling Green Tennis Club (Andover, Mass.). Edelmann is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Registry and the Intercollegiate Tennis Coaches Association, and is a life member of the United States Tennis Association. He graduated from Saint Michaelís College in Winooski, Vt., where he earned Team MVP honors and captained the Purple Knights to a Mid-East Conference Tournament Championship. He and his wife Susan have two children, Abby and Alex.
