Skrivan Named Field Hockey All-NESCAC

AMHERST, MA - Amherst College junior forward Katherine Skrivan (St. Louis, MO/Clayton) was named to the 2004 NESCAC Field Hockey All-Conference Team on Wednesday. A second-team selection, Skrivan posted a team-best 18 points on six goals and six assists this season.

Skrivan finished 10th in the conference in assists per game (0.46/g) and was an integral part of the Jeff attack, scoring game-winning overtime goals in a 2-1 overtime victory over Tufts University and a 1-0 shutout at Connecticut College. As a sophomore, she earned Second-Team STX/NFHCA Division III All-New England West Region honors, finishing second on the team in scoring with a team-high seven goals and one assist for 15 points, and was named the Co-NESCAC Player of the Week after scoring the deciding goal in a 3-0 win over 17th-ranked Springfield, and the tying goal in a 2-1 overtime win over fifth-ranked Bowdoin. Skrivan also had her first career appearance in goal, collecting eight saves en route to a 3-2 win at Colby College.

Amherst finished 5-8 overall and 3-6 in conference play, narrowly missing out on the final spot on the final spot in the NESCAC Championship Tournament by way of a tiebreaker.
