Jeffs Suffer 2-1 Overtime Loss to Babson

October 14, 2004

AMHERST, MA - The Amherst College field hockey team suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to visiting non-conference opponent Babson College on Thursday. Junior Katherine Skrivan (St. Louis, MO) scored the lone Amherst goal as the Jeffs dropped their third straight and fell to 4-5.

Babson struck first as senior co-captain Katie Connon (Canton, CT) notched an unassisted tally at the 16:43-mark of the opening half. Skrivan evened the count at 1-1 just 3:17 after the break with an unassisted goal, her fourth of the year. Babson junior Elise Conley (Shrewsbury, MA) found the cage 5:59 seconds into the extra frame to seal the victory for the Beavers.

Amherst senior goalie K.C. Cosentino (Greenwich, CT) collected seven saves in the loss, while senior Lacey Johnson (Acton, MA) nabbed five for Babson, which improved to 8-7.

Amherst returns to action Saturday at 11 a.m. against visiting NESCAC foe Colby College.
