AMHERST, MA - After finishing the season at 25-8 and earning its 11th straight postseason appearance, the Amherst College volleyball team placed two players, junior setter Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA/Harvard-Westlake) and senior co-captain middle hitter Lauren Wong (San Francisco, CA/Lick-Wilmerding), on the 2003 All-NESCAC Team, while first-year middle hitter Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA/Harvard-Westlake) was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year. Wong was also voted Third-Team Academic All-District 1 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Hoeksma, a first-team all-conference selection for the second straight season, led the Jeffs and finished fourth in the NESCAC with 1,079 assists. She earned Tournament MVP honors at the WNEC Invitational, dishing out a combined 117 assists in wins over Mass. College, Pine Manor, Plymouth St. and Westfield St.

Wong earned Second-Team All-NESCAC honors after finishing third in the conference with 151 total blocks. She was the only player from the NESCAC named Academic All-District, and finishes her collegiate career with 583 kills, 67 aces, 146 digs and 502 total blocks.

Quinn led the conference in hitting percentage (.420) and finished second (just ahead of Wong) in total blocks (164). She joined Hoeksma on the all-tournament team at the WNEC Invitational and earned similar honors at the Wesleyan Invitational, combining for 47 kills and 33 blocks in a trio of wins over Smith, Trinity and host Wesleyan.
