Perry, Harmeling Earn NSCAA/adidas Men's & Women's All-America Honors
December 22 - Amherst placed two players - menís soccer senior quad-captain Frank Perry and womenís soccer junior forward Ashley Harmeling - on respective 2003 Division III adidas menís and womenís soccer All-America teams, as selected and announced by the NSCAA. Perry, a three-time All-NESCAC pick and the 2000 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, was a Second-Team NSCAA All-America selection, leading the Jeffs and finishing eighth in the conference in scoring with 19 points on nine goals and one assist. Perry, Canon, York Named Men's Soccer All-NESCAC
November 14 - Amherst senior captains Frank Perry, Tim Canon and Mike York were each named to the NESCAC Menís Soccer All-Conference Team on Friday. Perry was Amherstís lone first-team selection, while Canon and York were second-team honorees. Full Story

York Named Men's Soccer CoSIDA Academic All-District, Finalist for Academic All-America
November 6 - Amherst senior quad-captain defender Mike York was the only player from the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) named Academic All-District 1 (college division) for menís soccer, as selected and announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday. York was a first-team selection, which automatically places him on the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America consideration. Full Story

Third-Seeded Jeffs Upset by Sixth-Seeded Wesleyan on Penalty Kicks after 1-1 Double-Overtime Tie in NESCAC Tourney
November 2 - The No. 3 seed Amherst menís soccer team was upset by No. 6 seed Wesleyan University on penalty kicks after playing to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in the first round of the NESCAC Postseason Tournament on Sunday. Wesleyan first-year Jared Ashe scored the game-tying goal to force overtime, and sophomore Garikai Giovati netted the game-winning shot in the ninth round of penalty kicks to give the Cardinals the win. Senior quad-captain Tim Canon scored the lone goal for the Jeffs, who are eliminated from the tournament and await word of an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Full Story

Jeffs Clinch No. 3 Seed in NESCAC Tourney With 4-0 Win Over Trinity
November 1 - The Amherst menís soccer team clinched the No. 3 seed and a first-round home game in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament with a decisive 4-0 Family Weekend victory over visiting Trinity College on Saturday. Senior Mike York scored the game-winner - the first of four Amherst goals after the break and Yorkís fifth tally of the season - on a penalty kick 14:30 into the second half. The Jeffs open NESCAC Tournament play Sunday at 12:30 p.m. against visiting No. 6 seed Wesleyan University. Full Story

Jeffs Fall at Sixth-Ranked Williams, 5-2
October 25 - The Amherst menís soccer team fell at sixth-ranked NESCAC and Little Three rival Williams College on Saturday, 5-2. First-year Brett Olsen led the Ephs with two goals and an assist. Amherst senior co-captain Frank Perry had two goals in the loss. Full Story

Jeffs Post 1-0 Overtime Win Over Wesleyan
October 18 - Behind a game-winning goal by senior forward Frank Perry just 47 seconds into overtime, the Amherst menís soccer team improved to 9-2-1 overall and 5-1-1 in NESCAC play with its seventh shutout of the season - a 1-0 Homecoming win over visiting Little Three rival Wesleyan University (5-5/3-3 NESCAC) - on Saturday. Jeffs Defeat WNEC, 3-1
October 14 - The Amherst menís soccer team defeated visiting non-conference foe Western New England College (WNEC) 3-1 on Tuesday. Senior quad-captains Michael York and Franklin Perry scored the tying and go-ahead goals, respectively, as the Jeffs improve to 8-2-1. Full Story
