AMHERST, MA - Already tabbed First-Team All-NESCAC and Second-Team STX/NFHCA Division III All-New England West Region, Amherst College senior co-captain defender Molly Jacobs (Providence, RI/Lincoln School) was named Second-Team All-America by womensfieldhockey.com on Tuesday.

Jacobs was instrumental in an Amherst defense that posted four shutouts and held opponents to one goal or less in eight out of 16 games. She finished the season 20th in the nation in defensive saves per game (0.375), and her lone assist came on the game-winning goal in a dramatic 3-2 win over then 19th-ranked Colby College.

Jacobs helped lead the Jeffs to a 6-0 start, a national ranking as high as 13th in the STX/NFHCA Coaches Poll, an 11-5 overall record and the No. 4 seed in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament, where they downed Colby College in the quarterfinals before being eliminated by eventual NESCAC Champion and NCAA runner-up Middlebury College.
