Everden Wins 400th as Jeffs Fall to Gordon, Down Middlebury, at Amherst Volleyball Classic
September 28 - Amherst College head coach Sue Everden posted her 400th career victory but had to wait until her second match of the afternoon to do so, as the Jeffs fell to Gordon and downed Middlebury at the Amherst College Volleyball Classic on Saturday. Everden's club moved to 10-1 with the split, while Gordon won the tournament and remained undefeated at 15-0 after a 3-0 win over M.I.T. in the championship match. Full Story

Jeffs Improve to 9-0 with Tournament Wins Over ECSU, Muhlenberg
September 27 - Amherst senior co-captain Erin Dittus racked up 28 total kills and sophomore setter Annie Hoeksma dished out 80 assists as the Jeffs improved to 9-0 with victories over Eastern Connecticut State and Muhlenberg College at the 12-team Amherst College Volleyball Classic on Friday night. Volleyball Sweeps Through NESCAC Quad
September 21 - The volleyball team swept a trio of matches against Trinity College 3-0 (30-20, 30-13, 30-22), Wesleyan University 3-0 (30-28, 30-16, 30-22) and Connecticut College 3-0 (30-20, 30-11, 30-16) at the NESCAC volleyball quad on Friday and Saturday. With the victories the Jeffs improved to 7-0 overall. Full Story

Volleyball Improves to 4-0 with Shutout Win at Keene St.
September 18 - The Amherst volleyball team continued to buzz through the early part of its schedule with a 3-0 win at non-league for Keen State College on Wednesday. Junior outside hitter Jess Allen led the way with 14 kills, while sophomore setter Annie Hoeksma dished out 40 assists as the Jeffs improved to 4-0. It was Amherst's third 3-0 win in four matches. Raddock, Allen Carry Jeffs Past Western Conn. 3-0
September 13 - First-year phenom Kate Raddock tallied 10 kills and 13 digs, while senior co-captain Erin Dittus added nine kills and 16 digs as the Amherst College volleyball team swept defending Little East Conference Champion Western Connecticut State University 3-0 (30-27, 30-19, 30-12) on Friday night. The Jeffs improved to 3-0 with their second win in as many nights, after Thursday evening's marathon 3-2 victory over visiting Smith College. Full Story

Volleyball Outlasts Smith 3-2
September 12 - The Amherst volleyball team overcame a 25-kill, 18-dig performance by Smith College first-year Kate Sorensen to outlast the visiting Pioneers 3-2 in a non-conference match on Thursday night. Sophomore setter Annie Hoeksma paced the Jeffs with 41 assists. Full Story

Jeffs Sweep Mt. Holyoke in Season Opener
September 10 - The volleyball team opened its season with a convincing 3-0 win over visiting non-league foe Mount Holyoke College on Tuesday night. Senior co-captain outside hitter Erin Dittus paced the Jeffs, who won by game scores of 30-17, 30-21 and 30-15, with a match-high 13 kills. Full Story

Volleyball Sets Sights on 10th Straight Postseason Appearance
August 9 - A 24-7 overall record, eight wins in 10 conference matches and a ninth consecutive postseason appearance in 2001 would have constituted a spectacular season for most college volleyball programs. Not Amherst. Led by senior co-captains Erin Dittus and Missy Mordy, the Jeffs, who made consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances from 1998 to 2000 and won back-to-back NESCAC Championships in 1999 and 2000, look for a return to dominance this fall.
