Hoeksma Named First-Team All-NESCAC

AMHERST, MA Sophomore setter Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA) led the Amherst College volleyball team to a 21-7 overall record and the No. 3 seed in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament, while leading the Jeffs in assists (952) and finishing among the team leaders in kills (110), hitting percentage (.322), aces (31), digs (109) and total blocks (71). She can now add yet another mark to her growing list of accolades Hoeksma was named First-Team All-NESCAC on Thursday.

The standout sophomore played all 95 games for the Jeffs and led the team in assists in all 28 matches. She posted 40 or more assists an astounding seven times, including a career-high 51-assist performance in a 3-1 win over visiting Brandeis University. She also earned all-tournament honors at the 2002 Hall of Fame Invitational, hosted by Smith College.

As a first-year, Hoeksma finished fifth in the NESCAC in blocks per game with a 1.06 average.
