Women Fifth, Men Seventh at ECACs

November 10, 2002

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - Despite a game plan that saw Amherst's top six men's and women's runners sit out the event and rest up for next weekend's NCAA Regional Championship, both cross country teams turned heads at Saturday's ECAC Championship at Williams College. Amherst's women reeled in a fifth-place finish and the men plucked a seventh-place finish out of their competitive 30-team fields. Host Williams ran away with an easy victory on the women's side, and Colby College fielded the top runners on the men's docket.

Senior co-captain Laurel Kilgour (Clifton Park, NY) paced the women's team with a 16th-place finish. First-year Margaret Davis (Richmond, VA) was right on Kilgour's heels, pulling in a 25:10.6 for 21st place.
