Men First, Women Third, at Tufts Cross Country Invitational

GRAFTON, MA - The Amherst College men's cross country team notched the top spot at the Tufts Invitational over the weekend as juniors Michael Page (Fargo, ND), John Stanton-Geddes (Glendale, MO), and sophomore Matthew Katz (Tallahassee, FL) each finished in the top 10 of the 8,000-meter run, while sophomore Carter Hamill (Richmond, VA) paced the Jeffs with a third place finish in the 6,000-meter run, guiding the women to the third spot overall.

Sophomore Jack Morgan (Las Vegas, NV) also helped the men march to victory with a 27:19.40 finish, good for 11th place. The men ended up with a total of 57 points while Tufts notched second place with 61. The women finished with a total of 87 points behind Middlebury College's 40 and Williams College's leading 34.

Amherst returns to action Friday, October 11 at the New England's.
