Hamill Turns in All-America Performance at Cross Country Nationals
November 23 - Amherst sophomore sensation Carter Hamill earned All-America honors for the second straight year on Saturday with a 10th place individual finish at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, hosted by St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Full Story

Stanton-Geddes, Hamill Excel at Cross Country Regionals
November 18 - Junior All-New England honoree John Stanton-Geddes led the Amherst men's cross country team to an 11th-place showing, and the women's cross-country team led by NCAA All-Region, All-New England and NCAA National Championship qualifier Carter Hamill '05 took home ninth place at Saturday's NCAA Regional Championship meet at Westfield State College. Women Fifth, Men Seventh at ECACs
November 10 - Despite a game plan that saw Amherst's top six men's and women's runners sit out the event and rest up for next weekend's NCAA Regional Championship, both cross country teams turned heads at Saturday's ECAC Championship at Williams College. Amherst's women reeled in a fifth-place finish and the men plucked a seventh-place finish out of their competitive 30-team fields. Host Williams ran away with an easy victory on the women's side, and Colby College fielded the top runners on the men's docket. Full Story

Women Seventh, Men Eighth at NESCAC Cross Country Championships
November 3 - The women's cross country team tied with Tufts University, pulling in a seventh-place performance behind first-place Williams College in the 11-team field at Saturday's NESCAC Cross Country Championships. Meanwhile, the Amherst men countered with an eighth-place showing, trailing first-place Bowdoin College. Full Story

Stanton-Geddes, Hamill Pace Jeffs at Little Three Championships
October 28 - The women's cross country team ran through a chilly drizzle on Saturday to take second place behind host Williams College at the Little Three Championship Meet on Saturday, and the Jeff men countered with a third-place performance, behind first-place Williams and second-place Wesleyan University. Junior John Stanton-Geddes paced the men with a fifth-place, 27:09 showing, while All-American sophomore Carter Hamill led the women with a fourth-place, 18:58 finish. Full Story

Women 23rd, Men 27th at New England Intercollegiate Championships
October 15 - The Amherst women's and men's cross-country teams ran through harsh conditions on Friday to take home respective 23rd and 27th place finishes at New England Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships at Boston's Franklin Park. Sophomore All-American Carter Hamill was the top finisher for the women, earning All-New England honors with a 14th-place, 17:52 showing. Full Story

Men First, Women Third, at Tufts Cross Country Invitational
September 29 - The men's cross country team notched the top spot at the Tufts Invitational over the weekend as juniors Michael Page, John Stanton-Geddes and sophomore Matthew Katz each finished in the top 10 of the 8,000-meter run, while sophomore Carter Hamill paced the Jeffs with a third place finish in the 6,000-meter run, guiding the women to the third spot overall. Women Third, Men Fourth, at UMass Dartmouth Invitational
September 25 - Behind a second-place individual finish by sophomore Carter Hamill, who covered the 5k course in 17:34.36, the Amherst women's cross country team finished third at the 30th Annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday. The men, meanwhile, finished fourth overall, as junior John Stanton-Geddes covered the 8,040-meter course in 25:44.37, good for sixth place individually. Full Story
