Jeffs Finish Season with 4-0 Loss to 21st-Ranked Tufts
April 29 - The Amherst College men’s tennis team concluded its 2003-03 slate at 6-6 on Monday with its fifth consecutive loss, a 4-0 setback to visiting 21st-ranked Tufts University. Amherst’s Arpan Podduturi and Brian Chin were even in the third set of their respective singles matches, but didn’t finish after Tufts had already clinched the team victory. Full Story

Jeffs Ninth at NESCAC Men's Tennis Championships
April 28 - The Amherst men’s tennis team took ninth place at this weekend’s 2003 NESCAC Men’s Tennis Championship, hosted by Middlebury College. The host Panthers landed in second place behind Williams College, which claimed its 11th consecutive NESCAC Championship. Full Story

Jeffs Drop Fourth Straight, Blanked at 16th-Ranked MIT, 5-0
April 24 - The Amherst men’s tennis dropped its fourth straight on Wednesday, falling at 16th-ranked MIT, 5-0. The host Engineers swept four singles matches and all three doubles tilts, taking every set along the way. Amherst moves to 6-5 with the loss, returning to action this Friday through Sunday at the NESCAC Championship Tournament, hosted by Middlebury College. Full Story

Jeffs Fall to 12th-Ranked Middlebury, Rochester
April 21 - The Amherst men’s tennis team fell to 6-4 with a 7-0 loss to 12th-ranked Middlebury College on Saturday and a 6-1 loss to the University of Rochester on Sunday. Senior co-captain Brian Chin posted the weekend’s lone singles win for Amherst, downing Rochester’s Eric Prince 6-1, 1-6, 6-3. Full Story

Jeffs Blanked by Top-Ranked Williams
April 12 - The Amherst men’s tennis team fell to the No. 1 team in the nation, defending national champion Williams College, on the indoor courts at Amherst’s Coolidge Cage on Saturday. The visiting Ephs swept six singles and three doubles matches en route to the 7-0 win. Amherst dropped to 6-2, while Williams rebounded from Thursday’s 6-1 loss at Middlebury College, which snapped a 53-match NESCAC winning streak for the Ephs. Prior to Thursday’s defeat, Williams’ last loss to a NESCAC opponent came against Amherst on April 23, 1994. Full Story

Men's Tennis Edges Conn., 4-3
April 10 - Thanks to singles wins by senor co-captain Andy Tsai, sophomores Arpan Podduturi and Will Abbott, and first-year Jon Godsall, the Amherst men’s tennis team won its third straight match on Thursday, 4-2, at Connecticut College. Abbott also teamed with classmate Max Rettig for the Jeffs' lone doubles victory. Full Story

Jeffs Edge Trinity, 4-3
April 8 - After downing visiting Drew University on Sunday, the Amherst men's tennis team edged visiting Trinity College, 4-3, Tuesday afternoon at the Coolidge Cage. Down a set in the opening singles match, senior Adam Leibsohn rallied to defeat junior Richard Lawrence to earn a crucial win for the Jeffs. Full Story

Men's Tennis Opens Spring Slate with Loss at Wesleyan, Win Over Drew
April 7 - The Amherst men’s tennis team opened its 2003 spring slate with a 4-1 loss at Wesleyan University on Saturday and a 4-3 win over visiting Drew University on Sunday. Senior co-captain Andy Tsai was the lone Amherst player to notch singles wins in both matches, downing Wesleyan’s Dan Yoeman 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 and Drew’s Aaron McCormick 6-4, 6-4. Full Story
