2002 Amherst Field Hockey Milestones


TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Finished with a 7-8 overall record (4-5 in conference play).
  • Won their last three regular season games, including a pair of overtimes wins over Trinity and then 19th-ranked Williams, to earn the seventh seed in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament, where they fell to second-seeded Williams, 3-0.

  • Junior midfielder Christine Ryan (Summit, NJ)
  • Named Second-Team STX Division III All-New England West Region by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).
  • Second-Team All-NESCAC.
  • NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad


  • Sophomore goaltender K.C. Cosentino (Greenwich, CT)
  • Fifth in the NESCAC in saves per game (6.63).
  • NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad


  • First-year goaltender Anne McMullin (St. Louis, MO)
  • Named the NESCAC Player of the Week on Monday, October 28, after combining for nine saves in a pair of crucial 1-0 shutout wins over visiting conference rivals Conn. College and Williams.
  • Sixth in the NESCAC in goals against average (1.42).
