Jeffs Drop Overtime Heartbreaker at Wesleyan, 2-1
October 19 - The field hockey team dropped a heartbreaker in overtime at NESCAC and Little Three rival Wesleyan University, 2-1, on Saturday. Cardinal senior forward Melissa Courtemanche notched the game-winner 13:35 into the extra session. With the loss, the Jeffs fall to 4-7 overall and 1-5 in conference play while Wesleyan improves to 8-4 and 4-4. Full Story

Field Hockey Edges Colby, 1-0
October 12 - The field hockey team rallied through inclement weather to notch a 1-0 win over visiting Colby College on Saturday. The stand marked the end of a brutal four-game losing skid, and also gave the Jeffs their first NESCAC win of the 2002 campaign. Full Story

Jeffs Fall at Keene St., 4-1
October 10 - Kaitlyn Henley notched a pair of goals and assisted on another to lead host Keene State College to a 4-1 non-conference victory over Amherst on Thursday night. Junior Christine Ryan scored her team-leading third goal of the season in defeat, as the Jeffs fell to 3-6. Full Story

Jeffs Blanked at Middlebury, 3-0
October 5 - The field hockey team dropped its third straight game Saturday afternoon at Middlebury College, 3-0. With the loss, the Jeffs fell to 3-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play while the Panthers improved to 5-3 and 4-1. Full Story

Field Hockey Edged by Mt. Holyoke, 1-0
October 2 - The Amherst field hockey team came out on the short end of a rough-and-tumble battle on Wednesday, as Mount Holyoke junior Lauren Weiner slipped the game-winning tally past sophomore goalkeeper K.C. Cosentino in the 24th minute, handing the Jeffs their second consecutive loss. The victory was Mount Holyoke's sixth in a row as they improved to 7-1 on the season. The Jeffs fell to 3-4. Full Story

Jeffs Blanked at Bowdoin, 2-0
September 28 - After surprising 13th ranked Springfield College in overtime on Wednesday, the Amherst field hockey team was blanked at Bowdoin College, 2-0, Saturday at Ryan Field. Polar Bear senior Leah McClure paced the hosts with a pair of goals while Jeff sophomore goaltender K.C. Cosentino was stellar in net, notching 25 saves. Full Story

Ouimet Notches Game-Winner as Jeffs Edge 13th-Ranked Springfield in OT
September 25 - Senior forward Abby Ouimet scored the game-winning goal 14:09 into overtime to lead the Amherst field hockey team to a dramatic 3-2 win at 13th ranked non-league foe Springfield College on Wednesday night. The Jeffs improved to 3-2 with the win, while Springfield fell to 4-3 with it first home loss in five games on campus. Full Story

Field Hockey Falls to Bates, 2-0
September 21 - The Amherst field hockey team fell to visiting conference foe Bates College, 2-0, on Saturday. With the loss the Jeffs drop to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play while the Bobcats improve to 1-3 and 1-1. Full Story

Jeffs Steamroll Smith, 2-0
September 19 - The Amherst field hockey team played aggressively today, taking a 2-0 game over visiting Smith College behind goals by junior Christine Ryan and sophomore Erin Leydon. With the win, the Jeffs improved to 2-1 heading into a Saturday morning matchup with NESCAC rival Bates College. Full Story

Tufts Spoils Amherst Home Opener, 1-0
September 14 - The Amherst field hockey team played a gritty game against visiting Tufts University on Saturday, but fell 1-0 after a late goal gave Tufts the win. The game remained scoreless through the first half of play, due in large part to three first-half saves from first-year Amherst goalkeeper Anne McMullin. McMullin tallied six saves on the day. Field Hockey Opens with 4-1 Win at M.I.T.
September 10 - Senior forward Jenna Obelsky tallied a goal and three assists as the Amherst field hockey team opened its season with a 4-1 win at M.I.T on Tuesday. Fellow senior Abby Ouimet, junior Christine Ryan and sophomore Tyler Kelly also cracked the scoring column for Amherst. Full Story
