Hewes Tabbed Verizon Academic All-District I
November 26 - Women's volleyball co-captain Erica Hewes was named Second-Team Verizon Academic All-District I by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The senior outside hitter is one of just two NESCAC student-athletes named to the team, along with first-team pick Alexis Keeler from Wesleyan University. Full Story

Hewes & DeMeules Tabbed All-NESCAC
November 7 - Amherst College volleyball senior co-captains Erica Hewes (Pebble Beach, CA) and Meredith DeMeules (Los Angeles, CA) were named all-conference by the NESCAC on Tuesday after leading the Jeffs to a 24-7 overall record and an 8-2 mark in the conference play. The Jeffs advanced to the semifinals of the NESCAC Championship Tournament, but fell to eventual champion Williams College. Full Story

Volleyball Falls to Williams in NESCAC Tournament Semifinals
November 3 - After a 3-0 win over Colby College in the NESCAC Tournament quarterfinals, the Amherst volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to archrival Williams College in the semis, finishing its season at 24-7, barring an at large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Senior outside hitter Erica Hewes paced the Jeffs with 23 kills and four blocks, while classmate and fellow co-captain Meredith DeMeules added 32 assists in defeat. Full Story

Jeffs Earn No. 3 Seed in NESCAC Tournament
November 2 - The defending champion Amherst volleyball team earned the No. 3 seed in the eight-team NESCAC Championship Tournament hosted by Middlebury College Friday and Saturday at Pepin Gymnasium. Led by senior co-captains Meredith DeMeules and Erica Hewes, the Jeffs (23-6/8-2 NESCAC) open tournament play with a quarterfinal match against sixth-seeded Colby College Friday at 8 p.m. Full Story

Volleyball Falls to Wesleyan & Williams at Little Threes
October 27 - The Amherst volleyball team hosted the Little Three Championship Tournament on Saturday but dropped a pair of matches to eventual champion Williams College and runner-up Wesleyan University. Saturday's 11 a.m. match marked Senior Day for Amherst co-captains Meredith DeMeules and classmate Erica Hewes who will graduate as the winningest class in school history. Full Story

Volleyball Swats Smith in Five
October 25 - It took five games, but the Amherst volleyball team eventually outlasted non-league host Smith College, 30-17, 24-30, 30-23, 28-30 and 15-9 on Thursday night, improving to 23-4 on the season. First-year setter Annie Hoeksma led the way with 25 assists, six blocks and five kills. Full Story

Volleyball Wins Pair, Finishes Fifth at Hall of Fame Invitational October 20 - The Amherst College volleyball team swept a pair of matches over Springfield and Bates Colleges to finish fifth overall at the Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament Saturday at Smith College. Senior setter Meredith DeMeules (Los Angeles, CA) paced Amherst with 14 assists, nine kills and eight digs as the Jeffs came from behind to down Springfield, 3-1 (25-30, 30-28, 30-27, 30-24), in the opener.
