Holt, Fong Tabbed Division III ITA All-Americans
June 17 - Amherst College first-year sensation Rachel Holt and senior co-captain Steph Fong were named Division III Women's Tennis All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The duo led Amherst to the Northeast Regional title and its fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Elite Eight at Sweet Briar (VA) College, where they fell to Emory University, 6-3, in the national quarterfinals. Holt, Wexler Earn ITA Postseason Accolades
May 23 - Amherst College women's tennis first-year Rachel Holt and men's tennis senior Bryan Wexler were both honored by the ITA this week. Holt, who helped lead the Jeffs to their fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals this spring, was named the ITA Northeast Region and National Rookie of the Year, while Wexler earned the ITA Northeast Region Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship. Holt, Fong & Cole Eliminated from NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships
May 21 - Amherst first-year Rachel Holt advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles Championships on Monday with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Trinity University's Lindsay Smith, but was eliminated in the second round later that afternoon, while senior co-captain Stephanie Fong also qualified for the singles draw but dropped her first-round pairing. Jeffs Bow to Emory in NCAA Quarterfinals
May 18 - The Amherst women's tennis team fell just shy of reaching the national semifinals for the fifth consecutive season on Friday, falling to Emory University 6-3 at the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals, hosted by Sweet Briar College. The Jeffs, who won the college's first and only national championship in any sport in 1999, won three of the afternoon's singles matches but were swept in doubles play. Full Story

Women's Tennis To Meet Emory in NCAA Quarterfinals
May 15 - The Amherst women's tennis team, fresh off its 6-3 win against visiting NESCAC rival Tufts University in Sunday's regional semifinals, clinched a berth in the NCAA Division III national quarterfinals and will face Emory University Friday afternoon at Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Virginia. Jeffs Advance To NCAA Elite Eight After Downing Visiting Tufts, 6-3
May 12 - The Amherst women's tennis team advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight after downing visiting Tufts University, 6-3, on Sunday. The Jeffs will travel to Sweet Briar College and meet an opponent to be determined, in the quarterfinals on Friday, May 17th. Full Story

Jeffs Blank Wellesley, 9-0, in First Round of NCAA Championship Tournament
May 11 - The Amherst women's tennis team downed visiting Wellesley College, 9-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Championship Tournament on Saturday. The host Jeffs will face either Tufts University or The University of Rochester in tomorrow's second round match slated to begin at 11 a.m. Full Story
