Jeffs Sweep Doubleheader at Trinity
April 20 - The Amherst softball team swept a doubleheader at NESCAC East Division foe Trinity College on Saturday afternoon. The Jeffs took the opener tallying the game-winning run off a wild pitch by Bantam hurler Kate Hunter in extra innings. In the second game, the visitors received a strong pitching performance from junior Emily Melia, allowing just a pair of runs, as the Jeffs edged the hosts, 3-2. Full Story

Jeffs Split Doubleheader at Westfield
April 17 - The Amherst softball team split at doubleheader against non-league foe Westfield State College on Wednesday afternoon. The Jeffs held on to win the first game, 5-4, while Westfield took the nightcap in five innings, 9-1. Full Story

Softball Clinches NESCAC Tournament Berth with Doubleheader Sweep Over Hamilton
April 13 - The Amherst softball team improved to 6-0 in NESCAC West Division play with a doubleheader sweep against visiting Hamilton College on Saturday, winning the opener, 3-1, and the nightcap, 3-0. The Jeffs clinched a berth in the NESCAC Championship Tournament and their sixth consecutive postseason appearance with the pair of wins. Full Story

Jeffs Bow to Mt. Holyoke, 3-2
April 10 - Mt. Holyoke College scored a pair of runs on a sixth-inning two-run homer by first-year first-baseman Carrie Warner to upend host Amherst, 3-1, in a non-league softball matchup Wednesday afternoon at Hill Field. The loss dropped Amherst's record to 11-7, while Mt. Holyoke improved to 9-12. Full Story

Jeffs Sweep NESCAC Double-Dip at Wesleyan
April 6 - Senior co-captain Lauren Peloquin picked up a complete-game win in the opener, posted a save in the nightcap, and finished with two hits in each game to lead the Amherst softball team to a 4-3 and 7-4 doubleheader sweep at NESCAC West Division rival Wesleyan University on Saturday. Jeffs Drop Non-League Tilt at Brandeis, 7-1
April 5 - Despite an 11-striketout, complete-game pitching performance by senior hurler Lauren Peloquin and a pair of hits by junior shortstop Missy Mordy, the Amherst College softball team fell at non-league foe Brandeis University, 7-1, on Friday. Full Story

Amherst Splits Non-League Twinbill with Smith
April 1 - The Amherst softball team split a non-league doubleheader with visiting Smith College on Monday, dropping the first game, 2-0, and rebounding for a dramatic 5-4 win in the nightcap. The split moved Amherst's overall record to 9-5, while Smith improved to 9-7. Full Story

Jeffs Take Pair from NESCAC-Rival Middlebury
March 30 - The Amherst softball team opened its 2002 NESCAC West Division slate with a doubleheader sweep over visiting Middlebury College on Saturday. Senior hurler Lauren Peloquin tossed a two-hit, complete-game shutout as the Jeffs claimed the opener, 3-0. Junior right fielder Tamara Baer then drove in the game-winning run with an eighth-inning RBI-single in the nightcap a 4-3 Amherst victory. Full Story

Honderd, Peloquin Lead Jeffs Past Clark, 5-2
March 28 - First-year first-baseman Katie Honderd doubled, drove in two runs and finished 2-for-4 to lead the Amherst softball team to a 5-2 win at non-league foe Clark University on Thursday. Amherst senior hurler Lauren Peloquin upped her record to 6-2 with a six-hit, complete-game pitching performance as the Jeffs improved to 6-4 overall with the win. Full Story

Jeffs Fall to Plymouth State, 4-0
March 22 - The Amherst softball team, fresh off a pair of wins over the University of Southern Maine and Framingham State College on Thursday, fell to Plymouth State College, 4-0, Friday morning in Fort Myers, Florida. The loss gave the Jeffs a 5-4 mark to finish their Florida swing, and improved Plymouth State's record to 6-1-2. Full Story

Softball Downs So. Maine, Framingham
March 21 - The Amherst softball team upped its record to 5-3 with wins over the University of Southern Maine and Framingham State College Thursday in Fort Myers, Florida. Senior hurler Lauren Peloquin rebounded from a knee laceration to toss a pair of complete-game victories, while junior outfielder Tamara Baer drove in the game-winning run in the opener and added two hits in the nightcap. Jeffs Surrender Early Lead, Fall to Cazenovia, 7-5
March 20 - The Amherst softball team jumped out to an early 5-2 lead but couldn't hang on against Cazenovia College, falling to the Wildcats, 7-5, Wednesday afternoon in Fort Myers, Florida. Sophomore first baseman Gina Scribner the 2001 NESCAC Co-Rookie of the Year hit her second home run in as many game in defeat, after launching a grand slam in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Dickinson College. Peloquin Pitches Jeffs Past Lasell, Dickinson
March 19 - Senior hurler Lauren Peloquin struck out a combined 19 batters in a pair of complete-game victories as the Amherst softball team downed Lasell College, 8-0, and Dickinson College, 5-1, Tuesday afternoon in Fort Myers, Florida. The Jeffs improved to 3-2 with the pair of wins. Full Story

Jeffs Down Bowdoin, Fall to St. Lawrence
March 18 - The Amherst softball team continued its spring swing in Fort Myers, Florida on Monday with a 6-5 non-league win over NESCAC-rival Bowdoin College and a 6-1 loss to St. Lawrence University. Senior hurler Lauren Peloquin tossed her second complete game in as many days to earn the win in the opener, evening her record at 1-1. Full Story
