AMHERST, MA - The Amherst College men's soccer team scored three times within a 19-minute span in the second half to upend visiting non-league foe Babson College, 3-1, on Wednesday, improving its undefeated overall record to 3-0 on the season.

Sophomore forward Frank Perry (Hartford, CT) assisted on each of Amherst's first two goals. The first was a deflected shot that fellow sophomore Tim Canon (Easthampton, MA) ripped passed Babson senior goalkeeper Nick Todd (North Andover, MA) at the 45:45 mark. The second came on a perfect dribble pass to junior midfielder Carlo Valdesolo (Andover, MA) for a left-footed blast at 59:54, which turned out to be the game-winner. Just 4:39 later, junior midfielder Chris Kane (Marblehead, MA) added an insurance tally off a crossing pass from sophomore midfielder Andrew Korytoski (Northampton, MA) to cap the Amherst barrage.

Babson managed to crack the scoring column with 11:15 left in the game when junior defender Addison Marsh (Suffield, CT) tapped a crossing pass from junior midfielder Sam Cole (Carlisle, MA) past Amherst senior goalkeeper Bill Orum (Greenwich, CT) - just the second goal the Jeffs and Orum have allowed this season. The Babson goal was one of only three shots the Beavers were able to muster against the Amherst defense. Meanwhile, the Jeffs attacked Babson with 12 shots, including seven in the first half, en route to the victory.

Orum needed just one save to notch his third win of the season. Todd turned away a pair of shots for the Beavers, as Babson fell to 5-2 with the loss. With the pair of assists, Perry increased his team-leading scoring total to six points (two goals, two assists) after finding the net in each of the Jeffs' first two game of the season - a 2-1 win at Colby and a 1-0 shutout win over Bates.

Amherst returns to action this Saturday at 11 a.m. at NESCAC rival Connecticut College. The host Camels are 2-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play through Wednesday.
