Amherst Pounds Tufts, 24-3

AMHERST, Massachusetts -- Kyle Bohannon (Boca Raton, FL) led Amherst College with three goals and four assists as the Jeffs defeated Tufts 24-3 in Amherst, Massachusetts. Fourteen different Lord Jeffs contributed to the offense, including hat tricks by Bohannon, Sam Altman (Owing Mills, MD) and James DeLuca (Rochester, NY).

Amherst shut out the Jumbos for the first 17 minutes of play before Dan Kollar (Middle Island, NY) notched his first of two goals for Tufts 2:22 into the second quarter. The Jumbos closed out the game with a pair of goals in the final two minutes of play by Kollar and Dan Peterson (Tuftonboro, NH).

Tufts falls to 1-3 and will host Wesleyan University at 2:30pm on Saturday. Amherst, rated 22nd in the nation, improves to 4-1 on the season as the Jeffs prepare to host No. 18 ranked Springfield (1-0) tomorrow. The game will be played at 7:00pm on Garber Field at the University of Massachusetts.
