Women's Hockey Wins to Begin Winter Season

Jess Frisch '98 scored her first of four goals in the 6th minute of the winter season to help the Jeffs to a 7-4 win over Holy Cross. The Tri-Captain is well on her way to maintaining her place as the team's leading scorer, posting 5 points tonight.

Beginning their second season as a varsity team, Amherst women's ice hockey was led by three experienced players. Tri-Captain April Zenisky '97 had two goals and two assists while sophomore Brittany Evans added a goal and two assists to Zenisky and Frisch's totals. Four rookies also made significant contributions with assists from Megan Smith '98 and Lisbeth Rowinski '00, complemented by gutsy net play from first-time goalies Catherine Cugell '98 and Sarah Evans '99. The two combined for 31 saves against hard-hit pucks to preserve the win.

Alicia Gilmore had a goal and two assists to lead the Crusaders.
