AMHERST, Massachusetts -- With a 15-8 rherst women's basketball has earned the No. 6 seed in the 1997 ECAC Tournament. This is the team's second straight appearance in the post-season, finishing last year as ECAC Semifinalists. The Jeffs will travel to No. 3 Springfield for a Wednesday night meeting at 7:00pm.
The Jeffs got off to a rocky start before hitting the first of two four-game win-streaks to kick off the new year. With a young team, Amherst relies on the depth of its bench and talent of its players who continue to outscore and outrebound their opponents.

The Jeff frontcourt is bolstered by 6-0 junior Sarah Rinaldi (Washington, DC) and 5-10 freshman Naomi Sullivan who combine for 19.9 ppg and 12.6 rpg. Janinne Noel (Dalton, MA) leads the backcourt attack as the Career 3-Point Field Goal leader as just a sophomore, hitting 44 so far this season and 95 in her two years at Amherst.
