Performers of the Meet - Chris Eaton and Hallie Schwab

The team enjoyed the very short commute for this meet, as we simply traveled down the hill and got a great meet and lots of competition at the UMass Invite. Each team grabbed an individual win with Daniel Murner running to a new PR and qualifying provisionally for NCAA's with his 14:39, and like wise, Elise Tropiano also got a qualifier out of the way with her 10:48 wire to wire victory in the Steeplechase. Chris Eaton throwing underneath the UMass Football Stadium overhang, had a great series of throws as he bumped his previous best in the hammer throw in 4 of 6 attempts and finished 4th overall. Jordan Roehl and Chibuzo Uwakaneme, not be outdone by Chris also throw well with Jordan just missing breaking her own record but placing 7th and Chi setting her new best. Carly Levenson led the 800 contingent with her 9th place finish, a few steps ahead of Hoiwan Cheung and Molly Priedeman. Hallie Schwab ran a great race in the 5k to lower her best mark ever to an 18:11, and has set new PR's in her first two races of the outdoor season. Mattie Baker ran a solid time in the 200, straight into a headwind to finish 13th after taking 12th in the 100. Susie Wasserman cracked the Top 10 in the 400 Hurdles with her 8th place finish. Sophie Galleher grabbed 14th in the 1500 running 4:53 while Eliza Schalch looked real strong running to her new PR of 4:58. Peter Foote had a great season opener in the steeplechase as he set a new PR of 9:33 to place 4th, with fellow steepler John McGrail looking strong in 5th, running 9:50. Travis Cohoon ran a great race in the 5k to significantly lower his best mark and now hones in on trying to break 16:00. Andrew Reed continues to impress as he is having a great introduction to track and again lowered his best 400 time, this week running 51.42 to again lead the team with Larry Thompson inching closer to the 51 second land and Jack Kiley and Tommy Moore also running 52 seconds. Jimmy Swanson, Will Yochum and Will Bell finished in the Top 10 in the 800 running 1:57, 58 and 1:59 after having doubled earlier in the 1500 with Yochum breaking 4:00 for the first time and finishing in the scoring with his 4th place finish. Pete Skurman ran a nifty 2:06 in the 800 and Geoff Ainslie and Chris Erickson each rna 2:07. Ryan Drost and Spencer Russell finished 8th and 11th in the 400 hurdles
