NESCAC XC Parents & Family Gathering

October 27th at Williams College

With the annual running of the NESCAC XC Championships being held at the Mt. Greylock XC course and hosted by Williams, and being the last meet of meet of the season in which everyone would be competing (barring unforeseen circumstances of course), it is a great opportunity to try and get as many family members in attendance. Like we did last fall when Little Three's were here at Amherst, we are hoping to get as many of you as possible to make the trek to Williams College and cheer on your kids and meet the rest of the team, coaches and other families. Immediately following the conclusion of the meet - the women's championship gets under way at 12, followed by the Men at 1:00 and then an Open race (those who who were not in the Top12, Alumni runnes, parents - if you wanted to run?) at 1:45, we are hoping to have a "tailgate gathering" for everyone. What is consumed will depend entirely on what you all care to bring and there is really no limit on those possibilities - we are hoping to get some tables from Williams or bring a couple with us (may need 1-2 tables for those who live a little closer) but beyond that, it will be up to you all. There are approximately 50-55 men and women on the team and they are sure to be tired, hungry and thirsty after a day of tough competition. Tailgate fare - burgers, dogs, chicken, sandwiches, salads, your son / daughters favorite food, perhaps your favorite food, something unique, something common, drinks, chips, paper ware and utensils (not to eat but be eaten with or upon, just to clarify) - basically your call on what you would like to bring, as I am sure that it will get devoured and certainly will be greatly appreciated.

This is a chance to see the team compete for NESCAC supremacy, a chance to see your son / daughter race, a chance to meet the other parents and their respective runners, a chance to meet / see again the coaches and the most important part, to get everyone together and have a great time and show your support of the team and the program. As we get closer to the 27th, we will keep updating this site with what people are bringing so that you will know who is bringing what - while some things may be the same, there is certainly a chance that one person's secret chicken is different then someone else's, so feel free to double up. Perhaps seeing what others are bringing will help to put an idea into your head. We had a good time last year and we have had a lot of fun with the past gatherings during Track and XC and we are looking forward to building upon that success this year.

We will make up name tags and have them for you at the meet, as well as extra tags if you are bringing your other kids or family members. More information and details will follow, and as they do, they will get included right here so that you can check back as April 21st gets closer! Those who may be traveling from afar, and who may find it easier to pick up something in Williamstown at one of their eating establishments, this is a link to the Williams College visitors guide which has a list of the local eateries - there is also a Stop'n' Shop as you head into town that would have other last minute options. Directiosn to the cross country course, held at Mt. Greylock HS can be found here

On behalf of the team and the coaches, we are really looking forward to seeing you all at Williams on the 27th and are hoping for a huge turnout! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact either me Ned mail or 413 542 8117 or Alison Wade will also be instrumental in helping to organize this activity, via Alison email or 413 542 2963

Those coming and, if mentioned, what they are bringing. Keep checking back as October 27th gets closer and things get finalized. I will try and update this regularly as I hear back from people and what they are bringing.
