Andrew Olson Named NABC National Co-Player of the Year; Dave Hixon Named National Coach of the Year
March 21 - The National Association of Basketball Coaches named Amherst junior point guard Andrew Olson the 2007 NABC National Co-Player of the Year this afternoon alongside junior Guilford center Ben Strong. The two players were each named NABC Regional Player of the Year for their respective districts for their 2006-07 seasons. Full Story

Andrew Olson Named D3Hoops All-American; Hixon Grabs Coach of the Year Honors
March 19 - Amherst junior point guard Andrew Olson was named a 2007 First Team All-American by D3Hoops.com this weekend, while winning a National Championship. Head coach David Hixon '75 was named the 2007 Coach of the Year for leading the team to its first title. Full Story

Amherst Takes Home Program's First National Championship!!!!
March 17 - The Amherst College men's basketball team completed its amazing season with an 80-67 victory over defending champion Virginia-Wesleyan College in the NCAA Championship Game. The Lord Jeffs finish the season at 30-2, the best record in school history. Full Story

Amherst Advances to NCAA Championship Game for First Time in Program History
March 16 - The Amherst College men's basketball team watched a 14-point halftime lead disappear, but battled through the second half to pull off the 67-60 victory. The Jeffs will play in the championship game tomorrow at 5 p.m. against defending champion Virginia Wesleyan College. Full Story

March 16 - Amherst College men’s basketball head coach Dave Hixon has been named d3hoops.com Coach of the Year for the Northeast Region. Junior point guard Andrew Olson was named to the All-Northeast Region First Team, while senior quad-captain Dan Wheeler earned a spot on the Second Team. Full Story

Olson Named NABC Northeast Player of the Year; Wheeler Earns Spot on All-Northeast First Team
March 15 - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the members of the 2007 All-Northeast District Team, with Andrew Olson and Dan Wheeler each named to the Northeast First Team. Olson was also named the Northeast Player of the Year, while Amherst head coach Dave Hixon was named the district’s Coach of the Year. Full Story

March 9 - The Amherst College men's basketball team defeated Stevens Institute of Technology, 97-74, to advance to the NCAA Championship Tournament Round of Eight. Amherst to Host NCAA Sectionals for Third-Straight Year
March 5 - Amherst College has been named one of four host institutions for the 2007 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Sectional for the third straight year. March 2 - The Amherst College men's basketball team received a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament for the sixth straight year, and after last night's victory over King's College the Widener University squad has advanced to face Amherst at LeFrak Gymnamsium on Saturday night. February 21 - Amherst College senior quad-captain Dan Wheeler has been selected as one of the 10 finalists for the highly prestigious Josten’s Trophy.  The sharp-shooting forward was chosen from a large pool of nominated Division III basketball players from across the nation. Full Story

February 10 - The Amherst College men's basketball team was handed its first loss of the season, snapping a 23-game winning streak and preventing a perfect season, as the Jeffs fell to host Trinity College 62-59 in the final game of the regular season. Full Story

Amherst Picks up 23rd Win, Wheeler Scores 1,000th Point
February 3 - The Amherst College men's basketball team moved to 23-0 on the season with an 81-56 victory over Little Three rival Wesleyan University. Senior quad-captain Dan Wheeler scored a career-high 28 points, moving his career point total to 1,000. Full Story

February 2 - The top-ranked Amherst College men's basketball team rolled over visiting NESCAC rival Conn. College this evening, 91-49. The win moves the Jeffs to 22-0 (7-0 NESCAC) on the season and one win away from hosting the conference tournament. Full Story

Andrew Olson Named Finalist for Bob Cousy Award
February 2 - The National Basketball Hall of Fame, in conjunction with The Hartford, announced the finalists for the 2007 Bob Cousy Award yesterday, naming Amherst junior Andrew Olson to the field of seventeen. Olson is one of only two Division III finalists for the award, which is given annually to the point guard of the year across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III. Full Story

January 27 - The Amherst College men's basketball team improved to 20-0 with a 73-55 victory over NESCAC foe Bowdoin College. Sophomore Brian Baskauskas led all scorers with 18 points. Full Story

January 26 - The second-ranked Amherst College men's basketball tied a school record for consecutive wins this evening with a 69-58 win at Colby to remain undefeated at 19-0. Junior point guard Andrew Olson led the Jeffs with 19 points, on 5-of-10 shooting from behind the arc. Full Story

January 19 - The Amherst College men's basketball team was never able to take Middlebury out of the game, but the Lord Jeffs came through in the clutch to improve to 16-0, the best start in program history. Full Story

January 16 - With their 103-69 blowout win over visiting Elms College, the Amherst College men's basketball team matches the best start in program history at 15-0. Leading the way for Amherst was Andrew Olson who dished out 15 assists and Dan Wheeler who netted 19 points. Full Story
