Enroth Tabbed New Head Coach at WNEC
May 10 - Former Amherst College assistant coach Karl Enroth was named the new head men's ice hockey coach at Western New England College on Thursday. Enroth, a native of Rochester, Massachusetts, served as the assistant men's ice hockey coach at Amherst during the 1999-2000 season before taking over as the Jeffs' women's assistant coach the following season. W-Hockey Ends Season With 7-0 Loss at Bowdoin
February 18 - Bowdoin College first-year Lindsey Simon (Canaan, NH) notched her first career hat-trick, while sophomore Sally Chessie (Fredericton, New Brunswick) scored two goals and dished out an assist for the host Polar Bears, who knocked off visiting Amherst College by a 7-0 final. The Jeffs finish their 2000-01 season with a record of 7-16-1, 5-13 in conference play. Full Story

Colby Cruises Past W-Hockey, 6-1
February 17 - Six different Colby College women's ice hockey players scored on Saturday night, as the White Mules overpowered the visiting Jeffs with two goals in each period, prevailing by a 6-1 final. Amherst's lone goal came off the stick of first-year Alison White (Brookline, MA), midway through the second period off a feed from senior co-captain Gretchen Bowe (Hampstead, NH) and sophomore Danielle Williams (Needham, MA). W-Hockey Falls 7-0 at Williams
February 14 - Williams College first-year phenom Molly Wasserman scored five goals, including three in the first period, to lead the Ephs to a 7-0 victory over visiting Amherst in a non-conference women's ice hockey matchup on Wednesday night. Rookie goaltender Fern Senior posted 23 saves en route to the shutout. Full Story

Bowe, Williams Post Hat Tricks in 10-0 Win Over U-Conn
February 11 - Senior co-captain Gretchen Bowe celebrated the final home game of her illustrious four-year career with a dominating three-goal, two-assist performance as the host Jeffs bombed the University of Connecticut 10-0 in a non-league women's ice hockey matchup on Sunday. Sophomore sensation Danielle Williams took advantage of both of Bowe's assists and another from first-year forward Katie Potter to notch her second hat trick of the season. Full Story

Jeffs Fall to Top-Ranked Middlebury, 8-0
February 10 - Middlebury College senior forward Michelle Labbe scored the first and last goals of the game, both assisted by sophomore twin sisters Erin and Amber Neil, as the visiting Panthers crushed Amherst College 8-0 in an ECAC women's ice hockey matchup on Saturday. Seven different players scored for Middlebury - the top ranked team in the nation according to the latest U.S. College Hockey Online Division III poll. Full Story

Jeffs Play Trinity to 2-2 Overtime Tie
February 7 - Amherst and Trinity traded goals in the first and second periods, but held each other scoreless in the third period and overtime en route to a 2-2 tie in an ECAC matchup on Wednesday night. Amherst sophomore forward Danielle Williams broke the ice 13:30 into the game with her team-leading 20th goal of the season, assisted by first-year forwards Bess Kargman and Alison White. Full Story

February 3 - Amherst watched a 2-0 first period lead turn into a 7-3 loss to visiting Connecticut College in an ECAC women's ice hockey matchup on Saturday. Gretchen Bowe, Alison White and Danielle Williams scored for Jeffs, who fell to 6-12 with the loss. Full Story

Williams, White Lead Jeffs to 2-0 Win Over Wesleyan
February 2 - Sophomore forward Danielle Williams and first-year phenom Alison White joined forces on both Amherst College goals as the Jeffs' women's ice hockey team improved to 6-11 with a 2-0 shutout victory over Wesleyan University Friday night. Amherst sophomore goaltender Heidi Alexander was superb between the pipes with 37 saves en route to her third career shutout. Full Story

Visiting Ephs Blank Amherst, 9-0
January 28 - Williams College first-year forward Molly Wasserman (Minnetonka, MN) scored five goals and assisted on two others as the visiting Ephs notched their 13th win in their last 14 games with a 9-0 shutout victory at Amherst College on Sunday. Full Story

Williams Plays Hero in W-Hockey Thriller
January 27 - Sophomore women's ice hockey forward Danielle Williams (Needham, MA) put back a rebound of her own shot with 2.0 seconds remaining in regulation for the game's only goal, as the women's ice hockey team eked out a 1-0 win over the College of the Holy Cross in a Saturday night thriller in Orr Rink. Third Period Barrage Too Much for Trinity
January 24 - The Amherst women's ice hockey team took a 2-2 game and blew it wide-open with four unanswered goals in the third period, including two by sophomore forward Danielle Williams, as the Jeffs improved to 4-10 on the season with a 6-2 win over visiting Trinity College Wednesday night at Orr Rink. Jeffs Close Roadrip With 7-1 Loss at Manhattanville
January 20 - Amherst sophomore forward Danielle Williams knotted the score 1-1 with her team-leading 14th goal of the season 3:29 into the second period, but watched host Manhattanville College close the game with six unanswered goals to down the Jeffs 7-1 on Saturday night. It was the final game of a three-game road-swing for Amherst, who fell to 3-10 with the loss. Full Story

January 19 - Amherst fell victim to a 16-save performance by sophomore goaltender Kim Derleth as the Jeffs suffered a 3-0 shutout at Sacred Heart University on Friday night. Full Story

W-Hockey Falls on the Road to Connecticut College 6-4
January 16 - Connecticut College scored three consecutive goals to break open a 2-2 tie after the first period to down the Amherst women's ice hockey team 6-4. Sophomore forward Danielle Williams scored two goals and added an assist in the losing effort. Full Story

White Tabbed ECAC Rookie of the Week
January 16 - After helping lead Amherst to a pair of impressive home wins over Cortland State and M.I.T. during a 2-1 week for the Jeffs, first-year forward Alison White (Brookline, MA/Brookline) was named the Louisville Division III Women's Hockey Player of the Week by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Alexander Notches First Career Shutout in 9-0 Win Over M.I.T.
January 13 - The women's ice hockey team routed an overwhelmed and winless Massachusetts Institute of Technology club 9-0 on Saturday, as the Jeffs outshot the 0-9 Engineers 57-7 and sophomore goaltender Heidi Alexander notched her first career shutout. Full Story

Jeffs Fall to Southern Maine, 2-0
January 12 - After holding a powerful Huskie attack at bay for 56 minutes, the Jeffs fell victim to a pair of late third period goals in a 2-0 loss to the University of Southern Maine Friday night at Orr Rink. Full Story
