White & Williams Too Much for Cortland St.
January 9 - Spectators littered the Orr Rink ice with winter caps and baseball hats twice on Tuesday night as Amherst College linemates Danielle Williams and Alison White notched a pair of hat-tricks in a 7-1 blowout win over visiting Cortland State (1-8). It was the Jeffs' second win in their last three games, improving their record to 2-6 overall. Full Story

Jeffs Fall To Visiting Colgate, 8-2
January 7 - Amherst took a 2-2 tie into the locker room after the first period but watched Colgate close the game with six unanswered goals as the visiting Red Raiders downed the Jeffs 8-2 Sunday afternoon at Orr Rink. The loss capped a 1-1 weekend for Amherst, after the Jeffs pounded Union College 4-1 in their home opener on Saturday. Full Story

Williams Leads Jeffs to 4-1 Home-Opener Win over Union
January 6 - Sophomore Amherst College forward Danielle Williams (Needham, MA) scored a pair of goals and added two assists, playing a part in all four Amherst goals as the women's ice hockey team opened 2001 on a positive note on Saturday night, skating past the visiting Union College Dutchwomen in a 4-1 final. Jeffs' Three-Goal Cushion Deflated at Wesleyan
December 8 - The Amherst College women's hockey team came painfully close to its first win of the season on Friday night but couldn't hang on, as Wesleyan University rallied from a 3-0 deficit with four goals in the third period to hand the visiting Jeffs a heartbreaking fifth consecutive loss. Jeffs Fall Behind Early, Lose 5-1 at RIT
December 3 - Amherst fell behind 3-0 in the first period and never fully recovered, losing 5-1 at undefeated Rochester Institute of Technology (2-0) on Sunday, despite a second period goal by senior Co-captain Gretchen Bowe. Full Story

W-Hockey Falls at Hamilton on Last-Second Goal
December 2 - Hamilton College women's ice hockey rookie Eden Self scored her second goal of the afternoon with one second remaining in regulation, lifting the host Continentals to a 3-2 win over visiting Amherst College on Saturday. Full Story

W-Hockey Up and Skating
November 22 - With a pair of opening-weekend losses at the University of Vermont and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), it has hardly been an auspicious start for the 2000-01 women's ice hockey team. Then again, given the youth of this year's squad - with seven first-years and two sophomores on a 16-member squad - how the Jeffs open their season will not be nearly as much of an indicator as how they finish it, since they boast one of the most talented first-year classes in the 19-team ECAC Division III league. November 19 - After dropping its season-opener 8-0 at the University of Vermont on Saturday, the Amherst College women's hockey team fell to 0-2 on the season with a 5-2 loss at RPI on Sunday, despite goals by Alison White and Danielle Williams. Full Story

Jeffs Open Season With 8-0 Loss at Vermont
November 18 - Amherst opened its women's ice hockey season with an 8-0 loss at the University of Vermont on Saturday, as six different players scored for the host Catamounts. Sophomore goalie Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN) had 37 saves in defeat as the Jeffs fell to 0-1 with the loss. Full Story
