WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - Williams College first-year phenom Molly Wasserman scored five goals, including three in the first period, to lead the Ephs to a 7-0 victory over visiting Amherst in a non-conference women's ice hockey matchup on Wednesday night. Rookie Williams goaltender Fern Senior posted 23 saves en route to the shutout, while Karen Thome added a goal and two assists, as the Ephs improved to 16-3-1 overall.
Wasserman accounted for all of the scoring in the first period and connected on four of the Ephs' first five goals on the night. She leads the ECAC in scoring with 28 goals and 19 assists in 16 games.
Sophomore Amherst goaltender Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN) tallied 44 saves in defeat, as the Jeffs fell to 7-14-1 with the loss.
Amherst returns to action Saturday at Colby College at 7:30 p.m. and wraps up its regular-season slate Sunday at Bowdoin at 1 p.m.
