Amherst sophomore forward Danielle Williams (Needham, MA) broke the ice 13:30 into the game with her team-leading 20th goal of the season, assisted by first-year forwards Bess Kargman (Brookline, MA) and Alison White (Brookline, MA), to give the Jeffs an early 1-0 lead.
The host Bantams rebounded to knot the score 1-1 at the start of the second period on a slap-shot goal by sophomore forward Katelyn Bowman (Summit, NJ). Not to be outdone, the Jeffs reclaimed the lead when White connected past Trinity freshman goaltender Meredith MacKinnon (Glen Cove, NY) after a pair of nifty passes by senior co-captain Gretchen Bowe (Hampstead, NH) and first-year forward Katie Potter (Ridgewood, NJ).
Bantam freshman Jillian Neilsen (Albany, NY) then capped the scoring with her fourth goal of the season 14:38 into the second period to set the final score at 2-2.
Both goaltenders were stellar in the final period and extra session. MacKinnon finished with 33 saves on the evening, including 11 in the third period and four in overtime, while Amherst sophomore goaltender Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN) posted 28 saves overall. The Jeffs fell to 6-12-1 (5-10-1 ECAC) with their first tie of the season. Trinity's record moved to 1-16-3 (1-13-2 ECAC).
