AMHERST, MA - After helping lead the Amherst College women's ice hockey team to a pair of impressive home wins over Cortland State and M.I.T. during a 2-1 week for the Jeffs, first-year forward Alison White (Brookline, MA/Brookline) was named the Louisville Division III Player of the Week by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

White led the Jeffs to a 7-1 win over visiting Cortland State on Tuesday, Jan. 9, jumpstarting the offensive barrage with a left-handed wrist shot just 2:30 into the game, before opening the second period with another wrister past Cortland reserve goalie Mandy Smock. She then ignited a raucous home crowed with her third goal of the game for her first career hat trick midway through the third period.
White had similar success in a 9-0 win over visiting M.I.T. on Saturday with a trio of assists as Amherst posted its first shutout of the season.
Despite her relative inexperience, White is now the Jeffs' second leading scorer with five goals and nine assists in just 10 games. With the pair of wins, Amherst improved to 3-7 overall, with three wins in its last five outings.
White and the Jeffs begin a three-game road trip Tuesday night at Connecticut College before traveling to Sacred Heart University on Friday and Manhattanville College on Saturday.
