Amherst Trio Tabbed Division III All-Scholar
April 29 - Three members of the Amherst College women's golf team - sophomores Katie Gravel, Jean Limpert and junior captain Jaime Ratner - have been named to the 2000-01 Division III All-Scholar Team by the National Golf Coaches Association. The trio led the Jeffs to a third place finish at the Massachusetts State Championships and a ninth place finish at the Northeast Championships in their final two spring outings, en route to qualifying for the Division III NCAA Championships at the Hickory Point Golf Course in Decatur, Illinois - a bid Amherst declined due to a conflict with final exams. W-Golf Ninth at Northeast Championships
April 29 - First-year Kathryn Kuchefsky (Wellesley, MA) shot a two-day score of 87-84-171 to tie for 21st individually and lead the Amherst College women's golf team to a ninth place finish at the Northeast Championships, held at the Hickory Ridge and Orchards Golf Clubs on Saturday and Sunday. Division I power Rutgers University (333-321-654) won the tournament in a tie-breaker over Central Connecticut State University (332-322-654), followed Brown University, who shot 332-330 for a 662 total. Jeffs Third at Mass. States
April 27 - The Amherst College women's golf team shot a season-best 346 to finish in third place at the Massachusetts State Championships at the Orchards Golf Course on Friday. The Jeffs had three players shoot in the 80s, including junior Jaime Ratner (Liberty, NY), who fired a scorching 83 to finish in fourth place individually. Full Story

W-Golf Fifth at Hartford Invitational
April 23 - Sophomore Katie Gravel shot a two-day score of 84-84-168 and finished in eighth place individually to lead the Amherst College women's golf team to a fifth place team finish at the Wellesley Inn Hartford Invitational at the Wampanoag Country Club on Sunday and Monday. Host Hartford University won the Invitational with a 336-320-656 total, followed by Rutgers University (350-321-671), Bucknell University (346-337-683) and Boston College (339-352-691). Full Story

Jeffs Eighth at Boston College's Lady Eagle Invitational
April 1 - The Amherst College women's golf team finished eighth out of a competitive field of 13 teams at the Lady Eagle Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, March 31 to April 1 at Boston College. Sophomore Katie Gravel (Manchester, ME) shot a 180 to finish 17th and pace the Jeffs' individual finishers. First-year Kathryn Kuchefski (Wellesley, MA) helped the team as well with a 186, placing her 27th overall. Jamie Ratner (Lincoln, NY) and Jeanie Limpert (Bethesda, MD) each shot a 195 to tie for 46th place, while Kasarin Chakkaphak (New York, NY) finished close behind in 50th place with a 198. Full Story

Kuchefski's 84 Too Much for Embry-Riddle
March 23 - The Amherst College women's golf team shot a 374 to defeat host Embry-Riddle University by eight strokes Friday at the Daytona Beach Golf Club North Course. First-year Kathryn Kuchefski (Wellesley, MA) paced the Jeffs to victory with the day's individual low round of 84. Junior Jamie Ratner (Liberty, NY) was next for Amherst in third place with an 89. W-Golf Defeats Williams in First-Ever Meeting
October 7 - First-year Kathryn Kuchefski shot an 84, and junior Captain Jaime Ratner (Liberty, NY) posted an 86, as the women's golf team posted a 16-stroke victory over Williams College in the first-ever dual match between the teams, holding on for a 355-371 match victory at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown. Jeffs Take Sixth at Mt. Holyoke
October 2 - First-year Kathryn Kuchefski (Wellesley, MA) shot a two-round score of 87-92-179 to lead the Amherst College womenÕs golf team to a sixth place finish at the Mount Holyoke Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Orchards Golf Course. Full Story

September 25 - The Amherst women's golf team finished 11th among a host of Division I and regional powers at the Yale Fall Intercollegiate Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23-24. Full Story

Jeffs Battle Division I Powers at Dartmouth Invite
September 17 - First-year golfer Kathryn Kuchefsky shot an 81-87-168 in her collegiate debut to lead Amherst to an 11th place finish at the Dartmouth Women's Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Hanover (NH) Country Club. Full Story
