Jeffs Ousted in NCAA Regional
May 11 - The Amherst College men's tennis team fell to NESCAC rival Bowdoin College, 4-3, in the NCAA Northeast Regional at Williams College on Friday. Junior David Wellner (West Hartford, CT) and sophomores Andy Tsai (Tampa, FL) and Rob Feeley (Chappaqua, NY) each posted singles victories for the Jeffs, but Bowdoin sealed the win by taking two of the afternoon's three doubles matches. Williams Claims Inaugural NESCAC Men's Tennis Championship
April 29 - Williams College won six out of nine flights to claim its first-ever conference championship. Meanwhile, Amherst College posted strong performances in the singles rounds with one finals appearance and five semifinal appearances. The Jeffs' Rob Feeley (Chappaqua, NY) claimed victories over Chris Peters (Connecticut) and Brett Carty (Bates) in the #6 singles Championship before losing in the final round to Williams' Dan Murray 6-3, 6-2. M-Tennis Falls at MIT, 5-2
April 25 - The Amherst men's tennis team fell to 7-4 overall with their 5-2 loss Wednesday at MIT. Despite singles wins by sophomores Adam Leibson (Mission Hills, KS) and Rob Feeley (Chappaqua, NY), the Jeffs were unable to even grab a set from MIT. Amherst returns to action this Friday in Williamstown for the inaugural NESCAC Championship tournament. Full Story
M-Tennis Edges Middlebury and Bowdoin
April 22 - The Amherst men's tennis team won a pair of matches over the weekend, with 4-3 victories over visiting Middlebury College on Saturday and Bowdoin College on Sunday. After splitting the singles matches with Middlebury, the Jeffs grabbed two of the doubles matches for the victory over the Panthers. Amherst then claimed four of Sunday afternoon's six singles matches to clinch a 4-3 win over Bowdoin. Bryan Wexler, David Wellner, Andy Tsai and Rob Feeley each posted singles wins as the Jeffs improved to 7-3 with the pair of wins. Full Story
M-Tennis Swept by Visiting Williams College, 7-0
April 14 - The Amherst men's tennis team recorded their third loss of the season with a tough sweep by Williams College (6-5) on Saturday. Despite Bryan Wexler stealing a set from the Eph's All-American Josh Lefkowitz, Amherst was unable to find its footing. The Jeffs will look to improve on their 5-3 record this Saturday in their home match against Middlebury College.
M-Tennis Falls to Visiting Bates College, 4-3
April 10 - The Amherst men's tennis team fell to visiting Bates College 4-3 on Thursday despite singles wins by Adam Leibsohn, David Wellner and Andy Tsai. Bates won two out of the afternoon's three doubles matches to seal the victory, as the Jeffs fell to 5-2 this Spring.
Jeffs Down Wesleyan, 5-2
April 7 - Amherst College juniors David Wellner and junior George Tsai and sophomores Andy Tsai and Rob Feeley each posted singles wins on Saturday, as the Jeffs' men's tennis team outlasted host Wesleyan University 5-2 on Saturday. Amherst also took two of the afternoon's three doubles matches to seal the win.
M-Tennis falls to Trinity
April 5 - The Amherst College men's tennis team fell to the Trinity Bantams on Wednesday, marking their first defeat of the season (4-1). In the loss, Amherst sophomores Adam Leibsohn (Mission Hills, KS) and Rob Feeley (Chappaqua, NY) both posted single wins, and double partners Andi Tsai (Tampa, FL) and Peter Ransmeier (Concord, NH) captured Amherst's sole doubles victory in the match.
