WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - Both the Amherst men's and women's outdoor track teams competed at archrival Williams College for the Williams Relays on Saturday, April 14 in Williamstown, Mass. Both Jeff squads ran tremendously to mark the heart of their regular season campaigns. The men's team was led once again by Pat Hayes '03 (East Bridgewater, MA). Hayes, who has been a stalwart for the team all season, won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.53. Senior Greg Baker (Tinton Falls, NJ) also provided a stromg showing on Saturday, running the 100 in 11.54 and finishing second, while also running his season-best in the 200. In the relays, the Jeffs finished second in the 4x400 with a time of 3:22.03, on account of strong efforts by Robert Long '01 (Littleton, CO), Jared Moshe '01 (Chappaqua, NY), Janak Chandrasoma '04 (Pasadena, CA), and Brian Hart '03 (Rutland, VT). Another group finished second in the sprint medley, as Chandrasoma, Hart, Moshe, and junior Ben Kozyak (Coral Gables, FL) combined for a time of 3:37.30.

The distance medley relay garnered the Jeffs' only win of the day om the women's side of the slate, as Alyson Venti '04 (Newton, MA), Anne Perez '02 (Chappaqua, NY), Helen Dole '04 (Shelburne Falls, MA), and Rebecca Woo '02 (Manchester, NH) set a new school record with a time of 13:06.4. Venti also had a great effort in the 1500-meter event, finishing in fourth place. Junior Amie Shei (Lexington, MA) finished third in the 400, while teammate Laurel Kilgour '03 (Clifton Park, NY) placed fourth. Sophomore Alison Stahl (Amston, CT) finished third in the long jump, and Emily Losbenz '02 (Chesterfield, MO) ran the 5000 in under 20 minutes, quite a feat considering it was her first 5000 since last year. Shei, Stahl, Kilgour, and Katie Hamill '03 (New York, NY) also placed second in the sprint medley with a time of 4:26.79.

Both the men's and women's squads will head back to Williams on Saturday for the Little Three Championships, where they will face off against both Williams and Wesleyan University.
