Ballaban Tabbed Men's Golf All-NESCAC
November 17, 2000

AMHERST, MA - Amherst College sophomore Todd Ballaban (Thousand Oaks, CA) was named First-Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference this week by virtue of his second place finish at the NESCAC Men's Golf Championship, held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 30 - Oct. 1 at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, Vt.

Ballaban fired a 159 and finished just one stroke off the lead as Amherst tied host Middlebury College for second place in the tournament. The Jeffs matched Middlebury's two-day tally of 659 but finished 14 strokes shy of eventual champion Williams College, who scorched the field with a 321-324-645.

Ballaban's 159 earned him a three-way tie for second place with Williams' Will Sick (Philadelphia, PA) and Aaron Flink (Loudonville, NY). David Greiner (Palmyra, NY) of Middlebury won the individual title with a 158 total. The top-five finishers all earned First-Team All-NESCAC honors.
