M-Golf Sixth at District One Shootout|

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - Amherst College sophomore Jude Volek (New York, NY) fired a two-round score of 80-78-158 to lead the men's golf team to sixth place finish at the District One Shootout at the Taconic Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. Williams College won the shootout with a 601 overall total, followed by Skidmore College (606), Babson College (628), Western New England College (634), Hamilton College (638) and Amherst (641).
Meanwhile, sophomore standout Steve Collins (Beverly Hills, MI) shot a 77 on Saturday-the Jeffs' low round of the tournament-coupled with an 85 on Sunday to finish with a 162 total to tie junior teammate Mike Blaisdell (South Strafford, VT) (80-82-162) for 28th place. Elsewhere in the draw, Amherst senior Mark Still (Devon, PA) finished 33rd with an 83-80-163 and sophomore Todd Ballaban (Thousand Oaks, CA) finished 37th with an 83-84-173.
The Jeffs return to action on Wednesday for the Little III Championship at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Amherst.
