Jeffs Seventh in Spring Opener

WALTHAM, MA - The Amherst College men's golf team opened its spring season with a seventh place showing at the 28th Annual Lou Flumere Massachusetts Intercollegiate Golf Championships, hosted by Bentley College at the Stow Acres Country Club on Thursday.

The Jeffs shot a combined score of 328, just eight shots shy of eventual winner Boston College in the overall team standings. Junior captain Mike Blaisdell (South Strafford, VT) and senior Mark Still (Devon, PA) paced the Jeffs in 18th place with matching scores of 80, while sophomore Jude Volek (New York, NY) finished 26th with an 82 and classmate Todd Ballaban (Thousand Oaks, CA) fired an 86 to finish 53rd.

The Jeffs return to action on Monday, April 23, at the Skidmore College Invitational.
